Quick Snap

Here's a couple of rushed shots of my revised uniform for the Brightsiders. The figure's been lightened up with green-striped, white gloves, while the expanse of the cloak has been broken up by the iconic green/white stripe. The player's number has been added to the shoulder, and the Brightsiders' logo to the helmet - I just don't have the accuracy to paint little x's that size!

Necro Day 6 - the real post :)

I started poking away at the Brightsiders last night and suddenly realized that they were almost done! I have another couple hours to go with piping, numbering and details, but they are really starting to shape up.

I'm not in love with the monochrome orange though and may add some white and green piping to their cloaks; what's the consensus?

Fire Dragons - Day 5

Well, despite my best efforts, the colour scheme I was trying to pull off did not work. At least not yet. I was trying to start with a brownish base, work up to red, then through to orange, but the orange just isn't coming through. It might just need more layers. So right now I have Superman meets Fire Dragon. I am starting to get some technique back, but it is a slow process. The lack of a decent selection of paint colours isn't helping.

Necro Day 4

No day 3 for me as I was enjoying a nice game of Blood Bowl. Here I've simply added the third uniform base color, washed the orange with Devlan Mud, and built up the first highlight again. I figure they're roughly halfway done at this point.

Fire Dragons - Day 4. Sort of.

Well, this is actually a Day 5 post, but it is a morning post. I felt guilty about not painting last night, and finished up the last of the armour basecoat this morning. I also realized that I overpainted in some areas. At least I think I did, so I may make some changes before I proceed.

Fire Dragons - Day 3

Another virtually pointless post. A couple more with their armour base coated. I need to try and get more time to paint.

Necro Day 2

I got a little work done on the rest of my Necro team last night; most of the uniform base coloring, in fact.

The dude on the extreme left is already done; I'm using him as a guide for the rest of 'em. The helmets are still bare because I'm thinking of doing them in reverse colors (green with orange stripes).

I've also finally realized that using the black primer as a shortcut to shading looks like shit in all but the most extreme folds, so I will be going back to solid colors and ink washes for this set. And probably retouching the other lads when I'm done.

Not pictured here is the Werewolf, who is naked and so won't be enjoying uniform colors. I intend to promote him to represent Star Player Wilhelm Chaney once I grab that Willy Miniatures wolf I've been coveting.
